Five days a week, radio host Bill McGlaughlin welcomes listeners around the world to come along on an adventure, a trip into the heart of music. Each week presents a new topic, ranging from explorations of Shakespeare in Music, to visits to Venice, Paris, Vienna, Tudor England, to an in depth study of Beethoven String Quartets, five part surveys of a composer’s life and times.

Exploring Music debuted in October of 2003 with the help of the National Endowment for the Arts and reaches audiences across the US and throughout the Pacific, including Philippines, Guam, and Australia.

Exploring Music draws upon McGlaughlin’s background as a composer, conductor, and radio host. He remarked, “Hosting WFMT’s Exploring Music is a happy accident, an opportunity that dropped into my lap. And then I quickly realized it was something I’d spent my whole life preparing for.”
